Broad bean "Black Pearl".
An amazing source of vegetable protein.
One of the earliest varieties. The period from germination to flowering is about 25 days, to technical maturity 60-65 days, to seed ripening 80-85 days. The plants are bushy, branched, 70-100 cm high, with strong stems. The plant produces 10-15 fleshy beans 7-10 cm long. Pods with 3-4 seeds, sugar - valves without a parchment layer.
Green beans and seeds in milk ripeness are used in home cooking and for canning (eating beans "raw" is highly undesirable!).
Mature seeds are dark purple, almost black.
The yield of green beans is 0.5 kg / m2, the yield of seeds is 0.2-0.3 kg / m2.
Value of the variety: stable fruiting, high content of protein, amino acids and carotene in grains, dietary product for diseases of the liver, kidneys and intestines. It is eaten fresh, boiled and canned.
Agrotechnics.
Sowing of seeds in open ground is carried out at the earliest possible dates, to a depth of 5-8 cm. The plants are moisture-loving, during the flowering and fruiting period in the absence of rain, watering is needed. At the beginning of mass flowering, the tops of the shoots are pinched to accelerate the ripening of the beans.
Cold-resistant, moisture- and light-loving crop, enriching the soil with nitrogen. Excellent honey plant.

Flowers and seeds are used for medicinal purposes.
Broad beans have a high content of protein and carbohydrates. Bean protein is very well absorbed. It contains essential amino acids, which is important because they are not synthesized in the body of animals and humans. The seeds also contain vitamins and various enzymes. The seeds have a diuretic, astringent, and anti-inflammatory effect. A decoction and mashed seeds are used for diarrhea and cough; seeds boiled in milk are applied to abscesses to speed up their maturation.
A decoction or infusion of flowers is used as a cosmetic for washing and wiping the face.

NB! People suffering from gout should not eat beans, since they contain a significant amount of purines.
You cannot eat raw or poorly cooked beans, since they contain toxic substances. Signs of poisoning from raw beans are headaches, frequent vomiting, and brown urine. If you suspect bean poisoning, you should immediately call a doctor or send the patient to the nearest hospital.
