Extra-long parthenocarpic salad cucumber with medium growth for green houses.
Products reach the length of 35-40 cm (420-460 g) and they are not bitter.
The plants need to be trained.
Salad cucumber. Bot.: Cucumis sativus L.
Tzatziki (delicious sauce or bread spread, Cretan style).
- 6-8 cloves fresh garlic (or more if you like garlic)
- 500 g of full-fledged sour milk (10% fat)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil and vinegar
- salt to taste
- 1 medium cucumber.
Prepare the tzatziki a few hours before serving to give the garlic time to soak up the sour milk.
Mix the garlic and a little olive oil in a mixer, then mix with the sour milk. Add the rest of the oil, vinegar and salt after.
Shortly before serving, grate the cucumber and squeeze out excess juice onto a napkin.
Mix the grated cucumber with the remaining ingredients at the last moment, as the water escaping from it can greatly dilute the sour milk (if some time passes before serving).
In Crete, tzatziki is traditionally served with a black Kalamon olive in the middle of the dish.
