Shrub beans "BORLOTTO LINGUA Dl FUOCO 3".
A bush variety of asparagus beans of the famous Italian variety, in great demand for their beautiful pods, called "tongues of flame", which reach 20 cm in length. Medium early (70 days) and very prolific variety.
The beans are white with raspberry red blotches, great for use in soups.
The young pods can be eaten just like regular string beans, as they do not contain the tough parchment layer and fibre, and they taste delicious!
Sow in beds at the end of May to June after spring's frosts, when the soil temperature is above +12+14°C.
Beans are a good source of protein, excellent in casseroles and soups. Legumes can be harvested in July for fresh consumption and in September - for seeds.
