Lingonberry "Forest Glade" (cowberry) - Vaccinium vitis-idaea.
Late-ripening, productive variety of large-fruited lingonberries.
An evergreen groundcover shrub 15–20 cm high. The leaves are small, smooth, elliptical in shape, dark green. The flowers are pale pink, resembling small bells. Blooms in May-June. Fruits in August-September. The fruits are round, initially greenish-white, then dark red, shiny, sweet and sour, weighing 0.25 g.
Lingonberries have a rich chemical composition. Used as a medicine.
The plant is light-loving and prefers acidic, well-drained soils.
Seeds are sown in spring. Seeds are stratified for 3 months at a temperature of +3+5°C in damp sand (on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator).
At the stage of 4-5 true leaves, the seedlings are transplanted into a greenhouse and grown throughout the year. In August, the cover is removed from the greenhouse, and in October it is mulched with peat (layer 5-7 cm) and covered with 2 layers of spunbond. In the spring, the shelter is removed and the young plants are transplanted into a shkolka, where they are grown for 1-2 years, after which they are planted in a permanent place.
The first lingonberry harvest ripens after 4 years.
