Hibernal onion "Black Prince".
Mid-season semi-sharp small-nested variety, due to excellent ripening, allows to obtain a harvest of excellent quality onions in an annual crop, even in the northern regions. The period from full shoots to harvesting is 100-105 days.
The bulbs are beautifully shaped, round, dense, weighing 60-100 g, and are distinguished by an increased content of dry matter and sugars. The covering scales are dark purple, strong, allowing for long-term storage of the bulbs without loss of commercial qualities. To obtain larger bulbs, onions are grown using the seedling method.
Sowing seeds for seedlings is carried out in March, planting seedlings in open ground - in early May according to the 20x10 cm scheme. Sowing seeds directly into open ground is possible in late April - early May, to a depth of 1.0-1.5 cm.
