Oxeyedaisy "Crazy Daisy" (white weed) - Chrysanthemum maximum flore pleno.
A very decorative flower 70-80 cm high. The diameter of the flower is up to 12 cm. It blooms in June - July.
It loves light and is cold-resistant, and is quite drought-resistant.
A delightfully beautiful plant on tall stems with dark green, shiny leaves and gorgeous, single, double inflorescences located at the ends of the stems. The ligulate flowers are white, the tubular ones are yellow. It looks good in plantings against the background of ornamental shrubs, in flower beds and mixborders. The flowers last a long time when cut.
Sowing: for seedlings in March-April. The seeds are only slightly deepened, without sprinkling them with soil, since they need light for germination. At +15+18°C, shoots appear in 2-3 weeks. After the appearance of two true leaves, the seedlings are pricked out. Seedlings are planted in open ground in May - June at a distance of 40-50 cm.
Care: any garden, non-acidic soil and an open sunny place are suitable. Regular watering, pruning of stems with wilted inflorescences, fertilizing are necessary.
For the winter, plants should be covered with dry leaves or coniferous branches. To avoid crushing of inflorescences, the chamomile is divided in the spring every 3-4 years.
Flowering: June - July.
Good partners are considered to be bellflower persicifolia, delphinium, lychnis, perennial phlox.
Location: well-lit places. In shaded places, a significant deterioration in the development of plants and their flowering is noted. The largest chamomile especially does not tolerate a lack of light.
Soil: the soil should be fertile, cultivated to a depth of 25-30 cm, sufficiently moist and well-drained. On poor soils, as well as with insufficient moisture, the flowers become smaller. In heavy and light soils, according to mechanical composition, add 20 and 15 kg of well-rotted organic fertilizers per 1 m3, respectively.
Does not tolerate light sandy or heavy clay soils and damp areas! On waterlogged soils, it often suffers from fungal diseases, ages faster.
Care: divide the bush every 3-4 years, otherwise the plant will die.
