Petunia Grandiflora Fringed Dwarf "Karkulka" Petunia fimbriata nana.
Looks great in flowerpots or planters, as well as in flower beds!
A stunningly beautiful petunia variety with wavy-fringed flower edges and a diameter of about 6 cm. Plant height 30-35 cm.
Lacy flowers, formed by wavy petals with a fringed edge, amaze with their unusual colouring: dark pink-purple with a white segment or border.
Blooms abundantly and for a long time.
Seeds are sown on the surface, without covering with soil, under glass or film to maintain constant humidity.
While the seedlings are small, it is recommended to spray them from a spray bottle rather than watering them.
Sowing for seedlings: from January to April (the earlier the seeds are sown, the earlier flowering will begin).
January and February sowings in northern latitudes require supplementary lighting.
Pricking out in the phase of 1-2 true leaves.
Planting hardened seedlings in the ground: in late May - early June, when the threat of frost has passed. Planting scheme 20x30 cm.
Further care consists of weeding, loosening, and watering.
It is possible to preserve plants in winter in a lit room at a temperature of about +12°C with preliminary pruning of shoots.

Petunia fimbriata nana Karkulka

Homeland of the petunia is South America.
In the early 19th century, it came to Europe. The bush is creeping or erect. Flowers are funnel-shaped, simple and double with a wavy or fringed edge, of various colors, sometimes with a delicate aroma. Leaves and shoots are pubescent. Petunia hybrids appeared about a hundred years ago.
One of the most abundantly flowering annuals. Snow-white flowers will decorate any flower garden, window box, flowerpot, or hanging basket. Blooms profusely until the first frost. Regular removal of wilted flowers prolongs flowering.
Growing conditions. Grown through seedlings. Surface sowing. At an optimal temperature of +18+20°C, seedlings appear in 2-3 weeks. Planting in open ground when the threat of return frosts has passed. The culture is light-loving, prefers fertile, light, well-drained, neutral soils. Responsive to feeding, which is carried out with complex fertilizer every two weeks.
Sowing: March – (1,2) April.
Planting: (3) May – (1) June.
Flowering: July – September.
Lighting: bright, do not shade.
Humidity: moderate.
Watering: regular throughout the growing period.
Feeding: every two weeks from mid-summer to autumn.
Reproduction: by seeds in early spring at a temperature of +15°C, flowering occurs 70-75 days after sowing.
Soil: soil mixture of leafy earth, sod land, humus, peat, sand (1:1:1:1:1).
Possible problems: root rot due to waterlogging.
Purpose: for landscaping various bright, cool rooms, greenhouses, winter gardens.

* Small-flowered hybrid petunia is undemanding to external conditions, unlike large-flowered varieties. All varieties of the plant are suitable for landscaping in open ground and balcony floriculture. Having only petunias of different colors, you can create a very attractive decoration for a balcony or window.
