Pumpkin "Marina di Chioggia".
The flesh is yellow, fruit weight 12-15 kg.

* "Marina from Chioggia" is one of the most beautiful and unique pumpkins. Italians consider this variety a heritage of the sea and nicknamed it the "Sea Monster".
After all, Chioggia is a small town in northern Italy in the Veneto region near Venice, consisting of three islands connected by canals and bridges.
The inhabitants of Chioggia have always been engaged in fishing, every day, despite the dangers, winning their food from the sea.
Interestingly, 700 meters from Chioggia, across the bay, is the village of Sottomarina.
In this village, people have long been engaged in crop production and for many years have grown this now famous pumpkin there.
The bridge between Chioggia and Sottomarina was built only in the twenties of the last century.
And only when the pumpkin began to be grown in Chioggia – only then did it get its current name.
Italians plant seeds in March, and begin to harvest the fruits in June. With us, when planted at the end of May, the fruits begin to reach technical ripeness at the end of August.
Under Estonian conditions, maximum specimens grow up to 10 kg. Picked on time, they store well until spring.
The plants are very vigorous, respond well to fertilized soil and regular watering.
This pumpkin is also very decorative. Italians have a tradition of keeping a pumpkin in the house as a hope for happiness and abundance,
which is associated with a large number of seeds – a symbol of fertility.
200 grams of pumpkin a day is enough to meet the daily needs of our body.
Due to its low calorie content and high fiber content, which boils well and is easily absorbed,
eating pumpkin can form a weight loss diet (provided moderate use of seasonings).
It is prepared with rice, cheese, sausage, mushrooms and spinach, they make creams, soups, delicious dessert from it,
boiled or baked in the oven and sweetened or simply bake pies with it.

* The pumpkin acts like a boss in the garden: it will take the best place in the sun, and if you don't keep an eye on it - it will spread its vines to other plants: it will twine around a bush, climb a tree, tenaciously grabbing with its tendrils, and just hang there, filling with flesh...
The pumpkin originates from the subtropical zones of Central and South America. It was brought to Europe at the end of the 15th century, and in Russia it began to be cultivated only in the 16th century.
The variety of forms and species of this amazing plant allows it to find the most diverse applications.
Pumpkin is used not only for food. It is used for treatment, dishes are made from it, vessels for storing oil and bulk products, toys, rattles and musical instruments. In Moldova, for example, large pumpkins are also used as a container for pickling lightly salted cucumbers...
