Mid-early: period from germination to harvest maturity is 115-130 days. Variety with high uniformity of root crops. The root crop is round. The flesh is dark red, juicy. Ringing is unexpressed (absent). Recommended for consumption in the autumn-winter period. Storage quality is good. The variety is resistant to bolting.
* You can eat your own beets all year round: from June to late autumn straight from the garden, and then until March from winter stocks. From March to June, fresh beets can be replaced by pickled ones. Therefore, this unpretentious vegetable crop enjoys well-deserved popularity. Beets do not sprout for quite a long time, but then grow quickly. It needs space, but do not let the roots overgrow, otherwise, they become coarse. It is better to sow beets little by little: several times per season with an interval of a month. In dry weather, watering is necessary. If these conditions are met, you will have good beets all summer.
Soil:
* Grows best on thoroughly cultivated light soil, but can give a good harvest on almost any well-prepared soil.
* Sow in a sunny place, prepare the plot for sowing in the autumn. Peat or rotted compost is added to humus-poor soils during digging. Acidic soils are limed. In the spring, when preparing ridges, complex mineral fertilizer is embedded in the soil 2-3 weeks before sowing.
Care:
* When the seedlings reach a height of 2-3 cm, they are thinned out, leaving one plant in each nest. Do not transplant the pulled plants!
* Weeds are weeded out. The soil is loosened carefully, trying not to damage the roots.
* With a lack of moisture, root crops turn out fibrous and small; with a sharp resumption of watering, they can crack. Therefore, in dry weather, plants are watered moderately once every 2 weeks. Mulching the soil around the plants helps to retain moisture in it.
* When the roots reach 6-8 cm in diameter, every second plant is pulled out and used for food.
Finally, dig up the roots when they reach 8-10 cm in diameter, and there should be no white rings on the cut. Beets are harvested for storage in late autumn. To prevent juice from leaking out, the tops of the pulled beets are not cut off, but twisted off, leaving the base of the petiole about 5 cm long. Store in a cool place in boxes with dry peat.
Beets are unpretentious, resistant to diseases, and are rarely attacked by pests. Sometimes they are attacked by beet aphids or beet flies, but this usually does not affect the yield.
Beets are very sensitive to a lack of microelements in the soil, which affects the color of the leaves.
* Beet mixture lowers blood pressure.
