Radish "Cherry Belle" (80 g)
Radish "Cherry Belle".
Perfectly round root vegetables with ruby-red skin and juicy, crispy flesh.
An early ripening radish variety that provides a guaranteed harvest 25-30 days after sowing. It is used for growing in open and protected ground.
To obtain an autumn harvest in the climatic conditions of Estonia, the seeds are sown in the second half of August.
1.0 g = 100-120 seeds.
Agrotechnics.
For sowing radishes, choose a site that comes out from under the snow early, with light, highly fertile soil. Any vegetable crops, except for cruciferous ones, can be predecessors of radishes. Fertilizers are added to the soil before sowing. Radishes are sown at several times: at the end of April (the bed is covered with film until shoots appear), then, if necessary, sowing is carried out at intervals of 2-2.5 weeks, for winter storage, late-ripening varieties are sown in early August.
Seeds are sown in rows with row spacing of 10-12 cm, a distance of 2-3 cm between seeds to a depth of 1-1.5 cm.
After shoots appear, it is necessary to regularly loosen the soil and keep it moist. In the middle of summer, when daylight hours are longest, it is recommended to shade the radishes. To obtain an earlier and later harvest, radishes are grown in protected soil (in spring, seeds are sown in early March, and in autumn - in late August - early September).

* Young radish leaves contain much more vitamins and minerals than root vegetables, so put not only the "roots" but also the "tops" in salads.
Radish leaves can be dried and added as a vitamin seasoning to soups and main courses. They can also be used well when preserving various vegetables to give them spiciness and aroma.
