Queen's Crown (Redpod stonecrop) - Rhodiola rhodantha.
Perennial from the family Crassulaceae.
Origin: USA (Montana to Arizona and New Mexico) at an altitude of 2000-4000 m above sea level. Caudexes are thick, weakly branched.
Flower colour: pink-red. The fruits are red.
Foliage: narrow, linear, succulent.
Flowering plant height: 25 cm.
Distance between plants: 45 cm.
Natural flowering period: May - June.
Soil requirements: moist, medium fertility.
Use: for rock gardens, stands well when cut.
Rhodiola rosea requires good drainage and sun, but does not tolerate extreme heat or drought.
Cultivated since the end of the 19th century.
