* How to grow good dill?
Dill is undemanding to soil fertility, but grows better in soils rich in organic matter.
This crop is cold-resistant, the seeds hatch at +2°C, and germinate at +5+6°C in 2-3 weeks.
Germination can be accelerated by a week by pre-soaking the seeds in water.
At a higher temperature (+18+20°C), dill germinates in 10-12 days. Young shoots can withstand short-term frosts down to -6°C.
Dill loves light, it will not grow under tree crowns. Dill does not like acidic soil, the pH reaction should be close to 5.5-6.
It does not need additional feeding, but it is a big fan of phosphorus and potassium.
Since it grows quite quickly (the greens are cut 30 days after germination), before sowing, 2 tablespoons of superphosphate and 1 tablespoon of chlorine-free potassium fertilizer per 1 m2 of the bed should be added to the soil. The beds should be free of weeds.
