Hollyhock "Pink Lace" - Alcea rosea.
A perennial plant from the Malvaceae family, cultivated as a biennial, up to 2-2.5 m high. Blooms from late June to September.
The flowers are double, pink in colour, 8-12 cm in diameter, collected in a large, spectacular inflorescence-brush.
Light-loving and drought-resistant, undemanding to soils, but prefers areas with well-cultivated fertile soil. It is advisable to cover for the winter.
Grow by direct sowing in open ground in May. Used for planting in groups, mixborders, for decorating the walls of buildings and fences, as well as for cutting.

Bot. syn.: Althaea rosea (L.)
