Mid-early, indeterminate and productive variety. Fruits weigh 115-135 g with good taste. Fruits are flat-round, strongly ribbed, red outside and inside.
It is believed that this very old variety originated in Chiapas (Mexico), and was identified by William Weaver in a painting by Rafael Paele, dating from 1793.
Other experts believe that it has a more recent origin, descended from the "Purple Calabash".
