Turnip "Dedka".
An early-ripening variety with uniform crop formation: 45-50 days from germination to harvest. It forms beautiful root crops weighing 120-250 g. The skin is smooth, thin, and shiny. The flesh is juicy, sweet, tasty, and rich in vitamins and useful mineral salts. The roots are eaten raw, steamed, boiled, and fermented. They are low in calories and can substitute for potatoes. They do not lose their beneficial properties during storage. Variety yield: 3.5-4 kg/m2.
The turnip is delicious and healthy stewed or baked, it is used as a filling for pies, and in a raw, grated form, it is added to salads.

* Turnips grow best on loamy and sandy loam fertile soils. Recommended predecessors are: cucumbers, tomatoes, legumes. Bad predecessors are plants of the cruciferous family.
The plot for turnips is prepared in the autumn. For deep digging, compost (3-4 kg/m2), superphosphate (30 g/m2), and potassium sulfate (15-20 g/m2) are applied; in the spring, ammonium nitrate (8-10 g/m2) is added. It is undesirable to apply fresh manure. Seeds are sown at the end of April (a month before sowing, the soil is covered with a film) in rows with a spacing of 15-20 cm to a depth of 1.5-2 cm. After emergence, the plants are thinned to a distance of 10-15 cm.
For winter storage, seeds are sown in mid-July.
Care consists of loosening the soil, weeding, watering, thinning, and pest and disease control.
Harvesting and storage.
Turnips of summer ripening are harvested selectively. For winter storage, they are harvested all at once before frosts.
Store in boxes, sprinkled with sand, at a temperature of 0+1°C.
