Sowing time: May.
Harvesting: July, August.
Planting method: open ground. Plant spacing: 25-30 cm. Row spacing: 40 cm.
1,0 g = 250-350 seeds.
Perennial plant with high frost resistance. In one place it grows up to 3-5 years. In spring, it gives early greens, rich in vitamins.
An early ripe variety for salad purposes. The bulb is elongated, reduced, massive. The leaves are tender, juicy, do not coarse for a long time. The taste is semi-sharp.
Agrotechnics.
The most fertile areas are chosen for onion cultivation. The best predecessors are cucumber, tomatoes and legumes. With perennial crops, the best time for sowing seeds is late April - early May, you can sow in summer (July-August). Sow in an ordinary way with a row spacing of 20-30 cm, and
between plants in a row 4-6 cm. Seeding depth - 1-2 cm. After thinning, the planting density should be 6-10 plants per 1 m2. Plant care consists in weeding, loosening, fertilizing and watering. It grows well in one place for 4-5 years. Young leaves are cut at a height of 5-7 cm from the ground 3-4 times during the growing season. After each cut, planting is fed and watered.

Wintry green onion, Welsh Onion. Bot.: Allium fistulosum L.
The method of stimulating onion growth with a table salt solution, repeatedly described in literature, is very interesting and accessible.
One gardener was fighting wireworms, which were damaging his Welsh onion. Once, he accidentally spilled pickle brine on the ground, which got on some earthworms. The salt made them writhe. This gave the gardener the idea that pests wouldn't like salt either. After that, he watered half of the onion bed with a salt solution. After 15 days, the onions in the watered part had grown 10 cm more than in the unwatered part.
And there was more to come. Growing onions this way, the farmer managed to grow bulbs the size of a half-liter jar, and the onion stems reached 90 cm. The solution concentration varied from 300 to 750 grams per 10 liters of water for watering 1.5-2 m². Watering was done every 15 days, followed by watering with clean water (2-3 buckets). Believe it or not. This can even be confirmed using beets as an example.
However, watering with a table salt solution should not be considered a pure fertilizing method; it is still necessary to fertilize the soil with organic and mineral fertilizers. Salt acts more as a growth stimulant and less as a mineral fertilizer.
Grow leeks and Welsh onions - these are vegetable crops of universal purpose: they are used as a standalone product, as a seasoning, preserved, dried, frozen, and simply for decorating the table and the garden plot.
