Heuchera sanguinea (color mix) - Heuchera sanguinea.
Spectacular and light colorful clouds!
Plants are 40-60 cm tall. Green leaves are collected in a compact basal rosette, decorated with decorative spots and strokes.
Small bell-shaped flowers from white to crimson are collected in loose paniculate inflorescences. Blooms in June-August.
Used as a decorative deciduous plant to create spots in borders. Cut flower stalks are an interesting material for arrangements.
Agrotechnics.
The plant is drought-resistant and quite winter-hardy. Prefers sunny or semi-shady places, drained soil. Propagated by sowing seeds in February-April in boxes.
Sowing is superficial, seeds are not covered. The planting container is covered with glass and kept moderately moist.
At a temperature of +20°C, seedlings appear in 10-20 days. Planted in open ground in May-June. The distance between plants when planting is 25-40 cm.

* Heuchera is a hardy and unpretentious plant, but it reaches maximum decorative effect in sunny or slightly shaded areas with fertile, well-drained, moderately moist soil. On the one hand, its roots need oxygen, and on the other, moisture, so that they form beautiful foliage.
Heuchera needs regular (especially during dry periods), but moderate watering. The best time for this is early morning or evening.
Avoid getting moisture on the leaves, as burns may appear on them.
Heuchera plantings need to be mulched annually. This must be done in order to preserve moisture in the soil. As for fertilizers, you should not overfeed heucheras.
Otherwise, you will get plants with large leaves, collected in untidy loose bushes. Such specimens overwinter worse and do not have time to lay down renewal buds.
To prevent this from happening, feed heucheras as follows: in spring, apply complex fertilizers with a low nitrogen content, and in August - phosphorus-potassium fertilizers.
After flowering, the inflorescences of heucheras must be cut off. This is done so that the plants look neat, and, importantly, to stimulate the growth of new leaves.
Separately, it is necessary to say about pruning leaves: heuchera remains attractive all year round (even for the winter it goes with leaves that remain under the snow until spring).
Then they are gradually replaced with new ones. Neither in autumn nor in spring are its leaves pruned, only dried and unattractive ones are removed. Don't be alarmed if they change their color, turn yellow, red or even black when the cold weather arrives.
Heuchera belongs to the so-called short-lived plants. It grows in one place without transplanting for no more than 3-5 years, so they need to be regularly rejuvenated by dividing the bush.
