Dichondra repens "Alternative Lawn".
A lawn without a mower! An evergreen carpet that needs no cutting.
This perennial ground cover is a real lifesaver for shady places and areas where ordinary grass grows poorly.
Characteristics:
Appearance: Forms a dense, springy carpet about 15 cm high.
Durability: Resistant to trampling and diseases. Frost-resistant culture (withstands down to -20...-25°C).
Key Benefits:
1. No mowing: Dichondra is a low-growing plant that keeps a neat appearance without mowing.
2. Landscape design: Looks perfect between paving slabs, under trees, and in patios. Allows creating a "patchwork" effect when planted with other creeping plants.
3. Undemanding: Grows beautifully both in the sun and in light partial shade, and even on poor soils.
Agrotechnics:
Sowing: From early spring to late autumn.
Soil: Loose, moistened. Seeds are evenly distributed over the surface, slightly rolled (pressed in), and watered abundantly.
Sowing rate: 5-10 g/m².
Important: Watering should be abundant. Do not allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings so that the carpet remains lush and green.
