Improved Showy Prairie Gentian "ABC 2 Blue Ream" F1 - Eustoma grandiflorum.
It has strong branching stems, which allows it to receive more nutrition from the outside and, accordingly, better adapt to adverse growing conditions. Large white flowers with a light blue edging around the edges resemble rosebuds. The plant can reach a length of 91 to 114 cm. Eustoma of this variety is in demand for making bouquets. After cutting, it can stay in the water for a long time, while maintaining a fresh appearance.
The flowers are double, with several rows of petals, 5-6 cm in diameter.
Flowering is long, at least 30-35 days. Grows indoors like a perennial.
Agrotechnics.
Sowing is carried out at the end of February-March. Seeds in granules are laid out on the surface of the soil (the seeds are not sprinkled, leaving them on the surface of the substrate). Moisten and cover with glass.
Prairie gentian shoots appear in 15-20 days at a temperature of + 21 + 25 ⁰C. The pick is carried out in the phase of 2-3 true leaves in separate pots with a diameter of 6 cm. After the seedlings master this volume, transfer to pots with a volume of 500-600 ml.
Growing of seedlings is carried out at a temperature of + 18 + 20 ºС (when growing seedlings, additional lighting is required for 14-16 hours).
They are planted in a permanent place when the threat of frost has passed.
Flowering begins: 15-20 weeks after germination. Top dressing with complex mineral fertilizer with microelements.
