The pure and captivating aroma is naively simple and infinitely complex. Touching the leaves of this plant, you will feel a fresh citrus scent with a sweet balsamic tone. It will inspire you with the energy of a good mood for the whole day!
This aroma is widely used in aromatherapy: it is effective for headaches and neuralgia. It is used as a fragrance for soap, deodorants and as an insect repellent.
Myrtle family. Homeland - Australia. A beautiful fast-growing tree of a pyramidal shape with glaucous-green leaves, as if covered with a waxy coating. It has a very fragrant smell, due to the content of fragrant essential oil in it.
On young branches the leaves are soft, glaucous, ovoid in shape with a characteristic smell; on older branches they gradually become elongated, leathery, less decorative.
Flowers are single, axillary. It rarely blooms indoors. Fruits are tetrahedral capsules.
Eucalyptus gunnii and Eucalyptus citriodora are grown indoors. These are low, slow-growing species. In their native habitat, eucalyptus form trees up to 1.5 m high. Eucalyptus leaves are used to treat a number of diseases.

CARE TIPS.
Temperature: moderate +16+18°C, below moderate or cool +12+15°C in winter. In summer, pots can be placed outdoors.
Lighting: eucalyptus needs bright light, some direct sunlight. It grows well on eastern and western windows.
Watering: abundant from spring to autumn, moderate in winter. The soil should be slightly moist all the time.
Fertilizer: from April to August with complex mineral fertilizer for indoor flowers, every two weeks.

Air humidity: eucalyptus does not require spraying.
Replanting: every 2-3 years in the spring. Soil - a mixture of clay-turf and compost (or leaf) soil, a little river sand is added. Pinching shoots inhibits their growth and stimulates the appearance of young leaves.

Reproduction: by seeds, which are sown in February-March. It is advisable to use soil heating. Eucalyptus seeds are not sprinkled, as they germinate better in the light. Sowing is kept at a temperature of about +18 °C. Shoots appear in about a week.

Did you know that:
* Eucalyptus does not tolerate either drying out of the earthen lump or excessive watering.
* Needs a cool wintering and fresh air. But cold drafts are not allowed.
* With insufficient lighting, the stems stretch out, the leaves become smaller and lose colour.
* On a window that is too sunny, burns may appear on the leaves.
* With age, eucalyptus loses its decorative appeal and therefore, as a rule, it does not live long in home conditions.
