Amazing dried flowers for winter bouquets!
Perennial plant, grown as an annual. The leaves are collected in a large dense rosette. At the ends of the flower-bearing stems are large corymbose inflorescences consisting of three to four spikelets. The calyxes of the flowers are large, brightly colored: blue, pink, yellow, white, carmine. The flowers are small. They bloom for a long time and continuously.
Plant height is 60-70 cm. Very good in cutting, widely used in winter dry bouquets, for mixborders and alpine slides.
Plants are heat-loving, drought-resistant and light-loving.
Agrotechnics.
The plant prefers sunny places, drained, loose soils. Seeds are sown in seedling boxes from mid-March to mid-April: the seeds are not buried, lightly sprinkled with fine-grained sand (at a temperature of +18°C, shoots appear on the 7-14th day). Seedlings are pricked out into pots of 3 pieces and kept at a moderate temperature. Seedlings are planted in open ground at the end of May - beginning of June, maintaining a distance of 30 cm between plants.
